On the 9th to 13th and 16th to 20th of November 2020 online, we are thrilled to announce the 20th anniversary celebration of the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) in this 2020. We aim to exceed expectations by raising our standards to make Animahenasyon 2020 our best iteration to date.
ACPI proudly presents Animahenasyon: The 2020 Philippine Animation Festival. On its 14th year, Animahenasyon continues to showcase Filipino talent in animation. The event is composed of 20 Years of animation with 20 Artists, and 20 Talks sessions relating to moving imagery and design, further inspiring and adding to the knowledge of aspiring young artists and professionals. The twelve (12) day event also includes a competition for both aspiring and professional animators plus screenings of original animation in the form of independent and commercial content.
Bringing in renowned and high-caliber speakers and personalities from international studios such as Disney TV Animation and Studio Ghibli, Animahenasyon attracts more than 1,000 participants from all over the Philippines and this time a much larger audience thanks to online engagement.
With theme for this year’s Animahenasyon is “The celebration of the 20th”. Filipino culture is just as complex and multi-layered as its people. Their stories and ideas can be developed into unique content that could propel the Philippine animation industry forward towards a future of locally produced films and TV series that connect with both local and international audiences.
Film Screening: All pre-selected entries for the animation contest and existing original works of the association’s members are programmed for daily screenings. Also, selected animated works from around the world will be shown through partnerships with the different embassies and cultural agencies.
Conference: A ten-day conference will be held with plenary, workshops, breakout sessions on concerns, issues and animation topics such as new approaches and trends, animation technology, animation education, and copyright issues.
Competition: A competition that seeks to find the best of Filipino animation from both professionals and students. All winning entries will receive trophies and cash prizes of Php 20,000
